EVER ELUSIVE (THE DAILY GLEANER/DAVID SMITH PHOTO) Brendan Landine, of the Fredericton Stampeders, uses a little body english to try and avoid having his flag plucked by Lucas Pond of the Fredericton Eskimos during the final of the Devon Lumber Squirt Flag Football League at Morell Park on the weekend. Eskimos won the Capital Minor Football Association final by a 14-0 score.

           Lucas Pond's 40 yard touchdown run early in the game proved to be the difference. Pond converted his own touchdown while Aidan Khoury and Nathan Gaffney booted field goals.

          Nicholas O'Dell had a pair of touchdowns for the Argos. Jacob MacKay, Robert DeMerchant and Wesley Kitchen added one major apiece. Kitchen, O'Dell, Sean Kenney and Connor Gour all booted converts.
          Malcolm Arseneau and Turner Sturgeon replied for the Tiger-Cats. Sturgeon and Tyler Garand added converts.

          Gavin Nash, Andrew Steele, Laura Murphy and Robbie McPhee scored the Riders touchdowns. McPhee and Riley Spear kicked converts.
          Tristan Chappelle and Megan Comeau had majors for the Als. Chappelle also kicked a convert.    
          Bee Fagan, Gavin Nash and Andrew Steele of the Roughriders all volunteered to play for the Alouettes in the second half because some of that team's players had to leave at half time. Otherwise it would have been 12 players against 5 players in the second half.

           Robert DeMerchant scored the lone Argos TD. Nick O'Dell added the convert.

           Andrew Steele scored two touchdowns for the Riders. Derek Bailey, Laura Murphy and Bee Fagan had one six pointer apiece.  Robbie McPhee, Riley Spear and Christopher Comeau all booted converts.

         In a battle between two unbeaten teams, played in a close to hurricane wind, a uniquely Canadian football rule, the rouge, determined the outcome of the game. Aidan Khoury's 45 yard yard kickoff bounced through the Stamps end zone for a single point. Patrick Pelletier and Alex Voisine scored touchdowns for the Eskimos. Khoury and Peyton Hoyt booted converts.
          Jack Chisholm had both Stamps majors. Lucas Baker and Daniel Gorman added the converts.
