November 28                       Maritime Championship

Fredericton Junior Black Kats 57 Timberlea Titans 0

After stopping the Titans offence on their first possession, the Kats offence marched down the field behind the rushing of Brent Hawthorne and Fraser Boldon. Hawthorne's one yard plunge put Fredericton on the board. Zach Cann booted the convert giving the Kats an 8-0 lead after one quarter.
Early in the second quarter Hawthorne scored again from five yards out. Cann's convert upped the margin to 16-0. Several minutes later Kats punt returner David Kingston broke the Titans back with a scintillating  60 yard touchdown run. Again Cann connected on the convert to push Fredericton's lead to 24-0. In the dying seconds of the first half Fraser Boldon bulled into the end zone from seven yards out. This time Chris Murray kicked the convert making the score 32-0 at halftime.
The only scoring in the third quarter was Quarterback Craig Prime's one yard plunge for a TD. Cann once again added the convert.
In the fourth Prime connected with David Carr on a 65 yard pass and run play for six more points. Cann's convert made it 48-0. With the final minutes ticking away Elliott Carr passed 20 yards to Mark Buckingham on a halfback option play for the game's final touchdown. Cann connected on the convert and then booted the ensuing kickoff out of the end zone for another point and a final score of 57-0.
Prime was selected as the game's outstanding player. Fraser Boldon was picked as the most outstanding player on offence in the game. The entire Kats defence was awarded the most outstanding defensive player award for the game.
The win completed a phenomenal season for the Junior Black Kats. They went 10-0, scored 405 points and did not allow a single point to be scored by their opponents. The 2004 Fredericton Junior Black Kats are the first ever team from Fredericton-Oromocto to win a Maritime football championship.

November 17                 New Brunswick Championship

Fredericton Junior Black Kats 22 Moncton Junior Highlanders 0

This game was supposed to be played on Nov. 14 but was cancelled by the 20 centimeters of snow received in Moncton.
After a scoreless first quarter the Black Kat defence blocked a punt giving the offence possession on the Highlander 25 yard line. On the first play from scrimmage Fredericton quarterback Craig Prime found David Carr all alone in the end zone for a touchdown pass. Zach Cann added the convert giving the Black Kats a 8-0 lead.
Inside the 3 minute mark of the second quarter, Kats defensive end Ben Thompson stripped the ball from the Moncton ball carrier on the Highlander 25 yard line. Three plays later Fraser Boldon rumbled into the end zone for another Fredericton major. Cann converted making the score 16-0.
On the ensuing kickoff Moncton returned the ball all the way to the Black Kats 15 yard line. However, the tenacious Black Kats defence would not yield and the Highlanders came up empty.
In the third quarter the Kats put together an impressive 75 yard drive using the passing of Prime and the running of Boldon and Brent Hawthorne. Boldon would bull into the end zone from two yards out to score six more points. The convert attempt was blocked leaving the score at 22-0.
In the fourth quarter the Highlanders drove from midfield to the Kats 15 yard line but once again Fredericton's vaunted defence held the Highlanders out of the end zone.
With the victory the Kats record goes to 9-0 on the season. The Kats have scored 348 points and have yet to give up a single point to the opposition. The N.B championship win was the Kats fourth in the last six years. The three previous titles came in 1999-2001. Capital Area Minor Football Association teams have won the provincial Bantam crown five times in the last six years. The Oromocto Junior Blues were victorious in 2003.
Fredericton now awaits the winner of the Nov. 21 Nova Scotia Bantam final between the Timberlea Titans and the Port Hawkesbury Hurricanes. This game was supposed to have been played on Nov. 14 but was cancelled by the horrendous weather in Nova Scotia.
