Murdock Meeting
called to order at Adopt minutes from the last meeting. Steve
Drisdelle, 2nd Shawn Kitchen. 1. Registrar’s
Report - Terry 215 players are registered for the spring program.
U11, U13 & U15. Rick Kelly will help with the 17U .
Terry will equip the 17U players he is expecting 40 45 players. 215 players plus 40-45 17U we should be at 255-265
for Spring, more players than last year. Disccussed the sponsorship, Kent Murphy will
contact the service clubs and the Rotary club for sponsorship in the
fall. 2.
Fundraising Report – Bottle Drive: Jeff
Murdock spoke to Brian Neill concerning a transport truck to help with
the bottle drive and he will try and get us a transport. Lisa Fagan will contact the Hawkins Family about
helping out with the bottle drive in Oromocto.
Lisa will coordinate the bottle drive for Oromocto area. Jeff will book a cube van in Oromocto and Shawn
Kitchen will look after booking a cube van for We need a satellite collection area on the
Southside, out in New Maryland would be the best place, possibly the New
Maryland Rec. Centre yard or the City Depot. Jeff will talk to 3.
Coaching Co-ordinator Report - Dave Spring Coaching: Dave Blanchard updated the Spring Coaching list.
20 Coaches will be on the field this Spring that have their Level
1. Dave said the Spring coaches would like to keep the
training sessions going a little longer and move the draft date to a
later date to develop the skills. Jeff said the Spring progam needs to be fun! East Coast Clinic in Terry said we need more parents to come forward to
help out with the teams. The
parents that have checked off the volunteer box need to be contacted.
The names highlighted on the distributed lists are the ones who
need to be approached. Dave Blanchard is going to hand out the coaching
information form. Jeff
Murdock wants them back by next Monday, 4.
Equipment Manager’s Report – Shawn Kitchen and Shawn Fagan Shawn Kitchen needs a place at Willie O’Ree for
the jerseys. Girdle sales
went really well 74 sold in total so far.
Shawn was trying to get some additional lights in the equipment
room but the City of Motion: To give Shawn Kitchen $150 to find a
suitable portable light. Terry
McIntyre, 2nd Steve Drisdelle. Jeff Murdock has been giving Shawn Fagan some
training in fitting helmets. 5.
President’s Report - Jeff Spring Football – Discussions focused on the
Legacy Fund for UNB Turf. Terry
McIntyre stated that FDS didn’t bring any money to the table so we
need to decide how CAMFA will commit to the new Turf field.
FDSA gave UNB $22,000.00 Discussion on the new turf – CAMFA will share the
cost of the time clock and scoreboard.
The cost of the clock is around $7,500.00 and it has been
ordered. Terry and Jeff will
meet with Kevin Dickie again to discuss the clock. If UNB doesn’t give us the time on the Turf that
we should be able to get with the money we are committing, then we
won’t pay out the $2,000 on October 31. The rental fee for the turf is $60 per hour and
youth is $36 per hour. On
Monday night, April 14 the lights for the new turf didn’t come on. Proposal – CAMFA would like to commit $2,000 a
year over 5 years – payable on October 31, each year.
A vote was taken to commit
to the above and it was passed unanimously. Proposal from Eric Bissonnette Boot Camp.
Terry said he would hand it out to the spring developmental
players . CAMFA will also
promote Eric Bissonnette’s business on the CAMFA website. Motion: Steve
Drisdelle 2nd Shawn Kitchen. Terry will make up the Registration form and Info
for Bissonnette Boot Camp Conditioning for Football 2008 to be held June
30th to Terry McIntyre also made a proposal to the
Executive to start a summer league for girls 14-17 (High School Aged). Practices would be held on Monday and Wednesday
evenings with help from the Senior Men’s & Women’s teams.
Terry proposed that it be promoted middle of May at the 3 High
Schools. It would be 6 aside
Football to run from Mid-June to Mid-August.
This is a Pilot project.
If it works out really well then maybe it could continue on in
the Fall. Ideally 36 girls would be recruited from OHS, LHHS
and FHS. All practices will
be held at 6.
Financial Report – Terry Terry handed out the Financial statement and the
executive reviewed it. Terry stated that we should make some money this
year. 17U money is not in
the bank yet. New
Business: Officials – Terry has a list.
Ray Muir will handle 13U, 15U and 17U.
Marion McIntyre will handle the U11 then give it to Joni
Blanchard to handle. FNB AGM Saturday in A proposal was put forward to have two JV Black Kat
teams run by Marty Arsenault, and Mark Dee.
This would be a Pilot project.
Motion by Terry McIntyre and 2nd Steve Drisdelle. Bantam Head Coach should have a Level 1 at least. Terry and Jeff will sell this too Mark and Marty
soon. Adjourned at May 14 is the next meeting date in Oromocto. |
