Gear
return Who
is going to go after the rest of the gear – Jr. Lions have the most
outstanding. Shawn Kitching / Vince Sturgeon.
T.McIntyre will make that contact. A
discussion followed about other gear that has been collected.
Much more gear has been collected so far this year than in past
years. The equipment deposit seemed to work.
No major concerns. 3.
Fair
Play rules CAMFA
Pee Wee Fair Play Rule After
an 18 point lead, starting running backs can no longer play offence.
They are still permitted to play defense.
Rule is only followed if lead of 18 or greater is maintained.
If the lead diminishes as the game progresses, the rules are
relaxed. No player can play
both offensive and defense in the same quarter if sufficient players are
available. Where
a team does not have 24 players ready to play, some players will still
have to play both offence and defense.
However, every player must now be a starter on either offence or
defense. S.Drisdelle
- VP should be
contacted if rule is violated to ensure that the rule is followed. Rule
to be given a trial during the 2009 season. The rule change will be
announced at the AGM. Steve
D. –Motion to accept the move that the proposed fair play rule as
presented be accepted and placed in the fair play rules for all games. Motion
carried. T.McIntyre
made a motion that the middle school teams may carry a max of only 35
players as of Sept 15. Seconded

Bantam Fair Play Rule When
there is a 12 man team and an 8 man team; players can’t play for both
teams in the same week. The
issue this year was that some 8 man team players also played in the 12
man play-off game. In the
future, that rule will be enforced in order to have all players play the
same number of games. There
will be no fixed roster each week. There
could also be tryouts for the team and limit the number of players
allowed on the team. The
downside is that there will be kids that will not play football at all.
The other option is that there could also be a limit to the
number of players that can be dressed for each game.
Parents should be educated that practices are the time that the
players get all the field time. T.
McIntyre – Motion to accept the move that in Bantam 12 man football, a
maximum of 30 players may dress for a game. Seconded
by K.Murdock Motion
carried.
Coaches
The
issue is how to get coaches involved in development training and how to
deal with coaches that get out of hand during games.
When attitudes become an issue, efforts should be made to nip the
attitudes in the bud before the behaviour becomes entrenched. One
recommendation is to send out emails weekly to use as a training forum
for coaches by offering small packets of guidance, training or / and
encouragement. 4.
