     AGM MINUTES

        January 23/2008  

1.  Meeting called to order at 7:30pm  

2. Welcome from the President – Jeff Murdock 

3. Introductions and voter certification

5. Additions to Agenda - none  

6. Motion to adopt Agenda – motion to accept from Lisa Fagan , second by Steve Drisdelle . Motion passed.  

7. Minutes from last AGM – not available due to computer crashing  

8. Presidents report – year in brief “volunteers always needed”

Deposit on gear made a huge difference in gear being returned. This practice will be continued this year.  The new equipment room located at the northside arena is open.   Spring program will be held at UNB thus generating a rate increase from $80.00 to $100.00.  There will be more Coaches clinics to ensure we have more certified coaches.  Suggestion has been made to have a “Super bowl” for Peewee and Bantam finals.  Location to be determined.  Lady Gladiators are the maritime Champions.    

9. 2007 Financial Report received from Terry McIntyre – Shawn Kitchen motioned to accept with Steve Drisdelle seconding the motion. Passed.  

10. 2007 Registration report – 1995 we had 125 kids registered, in 2007 846 were registered.  

11.Election of Executive:

Coaches Co-coordinator: David Blanchard

Officials Co-coordinator: Ray Muir  

12. 2008 Budget: an additional 125 expected for Squirt/Flag programs and 175 for the tackle program.  More teams will be created to accommodate the increase in numbers.  No Turbo cards will be purchased this year, instead the funds will go towards paying rent on the UNB field.  The officials will receive a pay increase from $17.00 per game to $18.00 per game  

13. Appointment of Coordinators:  

Alvin Ashfield (pictures) Lisa Fagan (Joni Blanchard to assist)

Pass/Punt/Kick and Fastest man competitions – Jeff to appoint someone from the executive.  

14. New Business: 

-UNB football clock to have 3 sections. One for FDSA/UNB/CAMFA, for a small fee.

-a cheque for $1000.00 was presented to Jeff from Joni Blanchard on behalf of the Bank of Nova Scotia .  The bank encourages and supports its employee’s to volunteers in their communities.   

-David Blanchard to co-ordinate and or attend a series of clinics/camps:

    -Feb 9th Quarterback camp in Charlottetown PEI

    -March 5/6 a Receiver camp $20.00 and Quarterback camp $30.00 to be       held at Oromocto High School

    -March 7/8 there is a Coaching seminar at the University of Maine

    -March 19 – a coaches seminar at the Day’s Inn , Oromocto

    -April 11-13th a level one coach’s seminar
