Meeting called to order at 6:10pm

  1. President’s Report – Jeff Murdock reported on the recent FootballNB meeting he attended.  FNB would like us to consider funding a provincial 15U roster for the 2010 Canada Cup.  It was suggested proceeds from CAMFA Spring Football be directed to a prospective provincial team.  Jeff Murdock was not in favor and expressed his opinion to the Executive.  Mr. Murdock also confirmed that the 2008 Bantam and PeeWee provincial finals will be hosted by Fredericton .  He recommended a Hosting Committee be formed to plan for the event.  Kent Murphy has volunteered to Chair a Hosting Committee for the 2008 Provincials.  Mr. Murdock responded to a request by the Head Coach of the LHHS Lions for support in funding a planned score clock and bleacher fundraiser.  It was the intention of LHHS to provide season tickets to CAMFA Players for resell in their communities.  The request was for CAMFA to fund in advance approximately $3000 with the intent that sales of tickets would go back to CAMFA or players directly to subsidize their registration costs.  The President and Past President could not support this cash outlay at this time as resources are scarce heading into our fall season.
  2. Coaching Coordinator’s Report – Dave Blanchard reported he was in the process of updating a list of available coaches for Fall 2008.  He also shared plans for the upcoming NCCP Novice Community Coaching Clinic to be held at CFB Gagetown on Saturday August 23, 2008 .  There will be no cost for current CAMFA Coaches.  Dave also shared with the Executive, FNB’s plans to adopt the LTAD Model – MOTION / Lisa Fagan:  CAMFA to adopt the LTAD Model for the upcoming season in order to comply with the province’s directive and meet eligibility requirements to compete provincially.  SECONDED / Kent Murphy.  APPROVED / All in favor.
Dave also shared with the Executive his proposed budget for Coaching Clinics for the 2008/2009 seasons.  The budget included planned submissions to government bodies for grants and cost sharing.

  3. Treasurer’s Report – Terry McIntyre reported that approximately $20,000 would be spent on updating equipment for the upcoming season.  He also advised the Executive that the Bantam Provincial Ball will be the Rawlings ST5.
