1. Presidents report

Meeting opened with the minutes from the last meeting being adjusted under “Coaching Co-Coordinator’s report” to read:

Fall Program – we “recommend” all coaches have novice or level one certification.  This may be waived by either the  President/Coaches Co-Coordinator/ or Board of Directors.  Motion to accept by Kelly Murdock. Motion passed.

2. Registrar’s report

Early registration with a 3 part form, 95% in the mail. Refund cheques are also in the mail.   Those still “not paid” for the spring program will be “remembered” for the fall registration.  Actual in house registration for the fall program will be held on Tues Aug 14th/Wed Aug 15th and Thurs Aug 16th.  General registration will be at the Hazen Centre on Sunday Aug 19th. Terry will update the website.   Jeff has spoken with the Town of Oromocto in regards to putting a phone line in at the Hazen Centre.  This would be helpful with registration as it could the first step in getting “debit/visa” at the table.

Terry has gathered the info from last year’s numbers and if all the kids who “can” re-register do so, then the Bantam level will be way over.   However, the Oromocto Misquito level will still need players.  This led to a discussion that the Oromocto organization still has some work to do.  Suggestion made to go to the Soccer/Baseball games and hand out forms for our programs.

The Squirt level can go with 2 additional teams for a total of 10 teams.  Terry already has the T-Shirts for this.  Recruiting will be organized by:

- Dominique for the Northside with Michelle Harrison taking on the Southside and Kelly Murdock for Oromocto.

 3. Fundraising report

Grocery Packing:

-Oromocto Superstore, gross profit was $741.15 with CAMFA receiving $370.56 and the Lady Gladiators $185.28.  A special “Thank-you” to Dave, Michelle, Steve, Lisa, Lady Gladiators and JV Blues.

Coupon Cards

We are working with Brian Currie at Value Star on a fundraising card for the fall program.  We would like to put the CAMFA helmet on the cards.  The fundraising card is intended to replace the annual fall raffle ticket program.  The cards will sell for $5.00 and have $200- worth of deals on them.  We will give each tackle player 5 and 2 each for the squirt program.  There is spot on the card for a total of 4 Sponsor @ $500- per.  We still need a “Bantam” sponsor.  CAMFA is looking at receiving 60% for profits.

Kent will call “Jump Start/Kid Sport” to let them know we are here and to see if they will show us the money.

4. Equipment Managers report

Jay reports that he will be building more stands for the shoulder pads.  More volunteers are needed to assist with putting up shelves, and separating T-shirts.  He will be taking the pants to the Days Inn for cleaning.  Inventory needs to be done so jersey’s can be ordered for the fall program if required.  Terry will help Jay with the ordering process.  Helmets need to be examined for condition.   Someone should contact Football America to learn how to examine/x-ray/certify helmets/and to re-certify helmets.  Jeff may know someone who is interested in this.

Outstanding gear:  Jeff has called the Black Kat players and Justin will handle the Lions.  Oromocto players have been contacted.

Misquito helmets are still required: 15 medium and 15 large.  We are looking at approximately $80.00 per.  Peewee footballs, the Nike ball has been discontinued. Terry will order the Wilson ball as it is a good size, seems to have a good grip and is what other organization are using.

5. Coaching Coordinator’s report:

Dave reports that a result of the Coaches Course, we now have 9 qualified coaches.  As well, the coach for the girls team is in place.

Part of  a NCCP grant application from General Motors (GM) requires that we are “Incorporated” to receive grant applications.  The GM application is done in two parts and if we are successful in receiving the funds we would support up to ten people to complete:

-          level one Technical course;

-          level two Technical course;

-          level three Technical course, and

-          support to a Coaching seminar

Dave is looking at obtaining a CD which goes through each position “clearly”.  This would be an excellent tool for the coaches.

6. Official report:  Ray absent.

More needs to be done to recruit more referees.

7. Treasurer report:

      Marion absent, however, Terry advises we have $10,000.00 in the bank

Old Business:

Meeting adjourned at 9:15pm
