Missing gear

Gear has been collected but more is still outstanding; efforts will continue to collect the outstanding gear.

5. Coaching Coordinator’s report:

Update to CAMFA camp 12-14 August

Low cost of $75 includes lunch at UNB for the three days...43 registrations, 13 coaches, 2 sponsors ($300 Beaverbrook Brokerage, $200 Lincoln Thompson)

Featuring CIS coaches and players, Special guest is Josh Sacobie (CIS Hec Creighton Finalist).  Short presentations will be conducted each evening at the sponsor hotel.

Sponsor Hotel is Fredericton Inn.

Coaching labels are being changed but the changes are not complete. In the meantime, a novice coach (same as old Community Coach and Introduction to Competition level) course will be scheduled for August 29. Dave will determine the location (most likely the Base). The course will be 1 day of training ( 10:30 – 5:00 ).  Terry will post the information of the website.

A general coaches meeting should be scheduled to discuss rules, concussions and possibly injuries.  The required ethics course will be offered online.  The date will be determined.  This will be in addition to the equipment fitting course ( 8:30 – 10:30 ).  This may be scheduled for August 29. It is actually one section of the novice coaching course.

6. Official report:

Norm discussed the change in unnecessary roughness rules.

Some discussion about the pads on the goal posts at the Lady Gladiators game in St. John last week identified that they probably would not have met the manufacturers standards.

Five new officials in line for the fall season.

7. Treasurer report:

$6000 in the bank.

Other Business:

Dave – Two athletes from Fredericton that are on the Provincial Flag team are going to Ottawa .  Football NB pays for the Under 17 and Under 15 League so this should be considered an option for next year.

Shawn – Can a player keep the gear from Spring to Fall League if he forwards money after the Spring season.  It would cut down on fittings in the Fall.  The charge could be to pre-pay the fall registrations.  This will be considered in the future.

Next meeting will be (insert date/time)

August 5, 2009 7pm

Location (usually Hazen Centre but could change)

Meeting adjourned 9:14 pm
