Meeting called to order 7:51

 

1. Presidents report

Items noted in other business.

 

2. Registrar’s report

Report by Tanya Kitchen.

 

Registration numbers are up for the Spring League at all levels but U15.  Registration is at the Na’sis Field House this Saturday between 12-3.

 

3. Fundraising report

Report submitted by Jodi Steeves.

 

CAMFA received $150 from Operation Red Nose.

 

Raffle tickets for the Gladiator Spring Raffle are on sale now – the prizes are CFL game tickets for the Moncton game and other paraphernalia.  Tickets will be available at the Spring registration and at practices and for players to sell to the general public so that maximum market penetration can be achieved in order to maximum the profit of this fundraiser.

 

Motion by Barry Hatt- Free fall CAMFA registration will be the prize for the player that sells the most tickets.

Motion seconded by Steve Drisdelle.  Motion passed.

 

Second prize will be a $50 gift certificate to Lids. Third prize will be a CAMFA t-shirt and your choice of a CFL hat from the stock supply.

 

Sports Investment Dinner

CAMFA has been invited to participate in it again this coming year.

Two courses are being organized by the NCC for this spring.

Introduction to Community Coach (Level 1)

Introduction to Competition (Level 2)

 

Future Stars summer football camp

For ages 11-17; scheduled for several days in August.

 

Issue raised - The cafeteria had an issue getting meal cards back and wanted a deposit until the cards are returned. Dave recommended that the price then be increased to $85.  A different food option will be investigated. Registration numbers– Dave requested to raise it to 120.  Much discussion: no motions.

7. Treasurer report:

Terry reported $12000 in the bank.

 

Tanya reported many checks from Spring registration still to be cashed.

 

Women’s World Tackle Football Competition.  Two women from Fredericton who made the Canadian National team, Julia Coleman and Alex Black, had played in CAMFA starting at the Squirt level and on up through Bantam.  They are required to raise $3500 each to cover the cost of travel to Sweden .  Terry made a motion for CAMFA to support the two athletes for $500 each if they raise the first $3000.   The motion was wholeheartedly seconded by Steve.  Motion passed.

 

8. Other Business:

The President noted that with the new Bliss Carmen Middle School , CAMFA needed a new Middle School trophy.  He proposed that the trophy be named after Dan McCullaugh, who was the first CAMFA player to play at the CFL level. Designs of the potential trophy were discussed and a design was selected.  Terry made a motion to purchase the trophy. Lisa seconded the motion. The motion was passed.

 

The FNB Awards Luncheon is April 24 in Oromocto.  The President noted that no representative from Moncton was planning to attend.

 

Next meeting will be (insert date/time) 

7pm  last week in April. The President will send out a date after verifying availability based on the Spring football practice and game schedule and will notify the Executive by email.
