Sports Investment Dinner

CAMFA has been invited to participate in the Fredericton Sports Investment Dinner on December 5. Due to the scale of the undertaking, the Red Bombers and the high school teams will be invited to participate and will share in the selling of raffle tickets and donations of auction items.  Proceeds will then be shared according to the value of the auction items provided by each group.  CAMFA will have 25 tickets at $75 each to sell and will have to provide 10-15 live auction items. The Red Bombers and the high schools will have to provide the same. Action Item -Volunteers to spearhead this will be Jodi Steeves, Donna Cormier and Tanya Kitchen.  They will contact Kent Murphy for current contact information.

Canteen Option

CAMFA will offer home teams/parents to run a canteen at the Friday night games at Chapman Field. Home teams would keep all the profits from the canteen.  50/50 draw profits would be split 50/50 with CAMFA.

Adopt-a-Highway

Dave forwarded a proposal for review : MRDC has an Adopt a Highway Program which CAMFA can participate and raise up to $1000 for either a spring or fall clean-up program.

4. Equipment Managers report

Girls (14-17) were fitted this evening.

Inventory of remaining gear at both locations will be conducted within the next month to determine the new gear requirements for next year.

Players that quit at this time of the season should check the website for details on returning gear. The details have been sent to the coaches.

5. Coaching Coordinator’s report:

Eighteen people attended a coaching course a few weeks ago.  Eight attendees

were from St.Stephen. A small fee was charged for the St.Stephen attendees, adding $308 to the CAMFA coffers.

6. Official report:

Level 1 course is scheduled this week (Tuesday and Wednesday) and will be instructed by Ray Muir. Only 3-4 people have been signed up so far.  Additional qualified officials with certification are required to handle the number of games being played each week.

Norm raised the issue with fighting during the opening season Bantam game last weekend. The decision about game ejections is that the player will also miss the next game.  In the future, the Referee will file a report and submit it to the President.  An incident involving an official will be handled by the Executive.

The horse collar tackle description of grabbing by the jersey neck or around the neck which then results in an abrupt change of direction will be called as a penalty this season.

Lisa raised the issue with Fair Play at the Squirt and Mosquito levels. Coaches should be encouraged to have equal play for players that show up regularly for practices.  Justin recommended that the parents should contact the VP’s who will then have Dave send out a generic email to describe the Fair Play and respect for officials policies and identify how complaints will be addressed.

Action Item

1 Dave will pull together the email with the information, send it to each head coach and ask each head coach to acknowledge understanding both the policies and the follow-up process.

2 Following a minor infraction, it will be the responsibility of the VPs and coaching coordinator to investigate and contact coaches to reiterated the rules

3  Repeated offences will result in suspension of coaches

7. Treasurer report:

Terry reported that there was money in the bank but bills to pay.
