Winning the Devon Lumber Squirt (ages 7-9) Flag League title on the weekend were
the Fredericton Eskimos, shutting out the Fredericton Stampeders 14-0.
Lucas Pond had a 40-yard touchdown run early in the game and that would prove to
be all the Eskies would need. Pond converted his own touchdown. The other points
came via field goals by Aidan Khoury and Nathan Gaffney.
The Eskimos defeated the Fredericton Argonauts 30-8 and the Stamps got past the
Fredericton Tiger-Cats 34-8 in semifinal play.
The third place game went to the Argonauts by a score of 38-16 over the
Tiger-Cats.
Nicholas O'Dell scored a pair of touchdowns to pace the Argos with Jacob MacKay,
Robert DeMerchant and Wesley Kitchen also finding pay dirt for the winners.
Kitchen, O'Dell, Sean Kenney and Connor Gour booted converts for the winners.
Malcolm Arseneau and Turner Sturgeon had touchdowns for the Tiger-Cats with
Sturgeon and Tyler Garand adding converts.
Fredericton Lions defeated Oromocto Blue Bombers 26-14 in the game deciding
fifth place in the squirt league.
Scoring touchdowns for the Lions were Ben O'Blenis, Jessy Levesque, Bennett
Wilson and Jack Miles. Wilson added a convert. Matt MacLennan had both
touchdowns for the Bombers with Dexter Atwin adding a convert.
Winning the game for seventh place were the Oromocto Roughriders beating the
Oromocto Alouettes 28-14. Gavin Nash, Andrew Steele, Laura Murphy and Robbie
McPhee each had touchdowns for the winners. McPhee and Riley Spear added
converts. Tristan Chappelle and Megan Comeau had majors for the Alouettes.
Chappelle also kicked a convert.
